Install CWM recovery on your GALAXY S5 G900F and G900H

In today's tutorial, we will see together how to install ClockWorkMod recovery on your GALAXY S5 SM-G900F and SM-G900H.
This recovery will be useful if you want to install a custom ROM on your GALAXY S5, install custom Kernels, install Mods or ZIPs in general.
The CWM used in this manipulation is temporary, once the mobile restarts, the stock recovery will be automatically reinstalled, if you want to make it permanent, you just have to rename or delete some system files.

 Prerequisites for installing this recovery on your GALAXY S5

•     Have the USB drivers correctly installed on the PC, if not, install the following software: click here
•     Having unchecked the “Lock. reactivation” in “Settings > System > Security“.
•     Download the CWM recovery file according to your model number:
•         SM-G900F 4G LTE: g900f-cwm-recovery-6.0.4.7.tar – 11.87 MB
•         SM-G900H 3G: g900h-cwm-recovery-6.0.4.7.tar – 9.8 MB
•     Download and unzip the “Odin3-v3.09.zip” file.

Procedure to install the CWM on your GALAXY S5

The ROOT increments the Efuse KNOX from 0x0 to 0x1, so your warranty will be permanently voided.

1.     In your PC, launch the “Odin3-v3.09.exe” file as an administrator.
2.     Before launching ODIN, remember to uninstall Samsung Kies 3 or close its processes from the task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del).
3.     Place the “g900x-cwm-recovery-6.0.4.7.tar” file in the “AP” tab and wait for the “MD5” verification time.
4.     Check that the "Re-Partition" box is not checked.
5.     The "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" boxes must be checked.
6.     Power off your phone completely.
7.     Press and hold the “Volume down + Home + Power” keys until the message “Warning!” appears, then release the three keys then press the “Volume up” key to access download mode.
8.     Connect your phone to your PC via the USB cable, after 5 seconds, the "ID:COM" box will display the USB port number (0:[COMx]), also check that you have the message "Added!" in “Message“, otherwise, recheck your USB drivers or your operating system, if the problem persists, redo the manipulation with another version of Odin3.
9.     Click on "Start" to start the installation of the file.
10.     Once the installation is complete, the “Odin3” box will display the message “RESET” then “PASS! in green, at this time, your mobile will restart on its own with the new recovery installed.

Make CWM recovery permanent on G900F and G900H

•     Install a ROOT file explorer.
•     Launch the explorer and accept ROOT rights.
•     Navigate to “/system/” and rename or delete the “recovery-from-boot.p” file.
•     Navigate to “/system/etc/” and rename or delete the “install-recovery.sh” file.
•     Restart your phone to apply the changes.
•     Here, to check your recovery, restart your GALAXY S5 by simultaneously pressing the “Volume up + Home + Power” keys.
